Draw Me a Message
Digital drawing course
• Fumetto International Comix Festival, Lucerne, 2017
What’s more fun: a WhatsApp message or a handwritten postcard? In this course, we used our fingers to draw digital messages directly on an iPad. We worked with an app that records the drawing process as an animated film which participants could then email or send as a text message.
Die grosse Flut
Drawing workshops
• European Children’s Book Fair, Saarbrücken, 2016
• FLIC festival, Bilbao, 2015
Imagine a huge storm releasing rain by the bucketful. The storm turns into an ocean. On the ocean there floats a boat. The boat carries a family. The family lives together with all of the plants and animals in the world. Is there perhaps a playground, a hotdog stand, or a cage filled with dinosaurs on the boat? In this workshop, we drew a poster of Noah’s ark based on our illustrated book Die grosse Flut.
Bilder Club
Drawing course with Romy Blümel and Serafine Frey
• Knowledge Club at the Richard-Grundschule in Neukölln, Berlin, 2013
• with Romy Blümel and Serafine Frey
• 2013
Every Wednesday a group of kids met up to draw and make paper cuttings inspired by various topics such as traffic, animals, and friendship. At the end of the course, we set up a silk-screen station in the classroom and printed our own postcards. Our young designers then proudly sold their postcards at the Alt-Rixdorfer Christmas market.
Intro to Silk-Screening
Silk-screening workshop
• BBK print studio, Berlin, 2009
In this workshop, kids learned all about the silk-screen process: how to draw and design motifs, make stencils, burn and wash out screens, mix inks, and print. The kids used everything they learned to make their own silk-screen prints.
